No Excuses

Well, I have zero excuses for not posting in so long, so I won't even try to pretend. A lot has happened since my last post. Everett has two teeth in, and 3 that I can feel (and kinda see) working their way into his mouth. He has become very "busy". He can go from lying on his tummy to sitting all on his own, pull up and cruise around his crib, and anything else he can find. He attempts crawling, but ends up getting mad, so he just inches around and rolls until he gets where he wants. He can make it all the way across a room using this method! Apparently, I did the very same thing, and never actually crawled, and was walking at 9 months. We will see if he does that, too. I am not sure if I am ready for him to walk that early, though. Yes, I know people used to think that something was seriously wrong with children who skip crawling, but that has since been disproved...He also babbles to his toys and to us and mostly says "D" sounds, dadadadad. He thinks he is funny and laughs at himself a lot.
Everett and I also went to Houston for a week to meet people he had never met before and just to visit family and friends. It was a WONDERFUL time. We went to the beach, ate yummy food, saw so many fun friends and had a great time with my family.
I will be posting LOTS of pictures, but they will probably post out of order like they usually do since I am no expert on how to use this blog.
We have been on play dates and been swimming this summer, and even bathing with no tub seat. Everett likes to fake swim in the tub now, and also likes to try to catch the water as it comes out of the faucet or up from the pool spouts.
We are still enjoying him more and more everyday. I also LOVE being at home and being "employed" by my son and husband :)

PS...No pictures this time. I have been trying for 3 days and cannot get them to upload. There are mostly all on Facebook anyway. Sorry!

A House Divided!

This week the Astros and the Rangers have been playing a series for the last time this season. Unfortunately for me, the Stros have not done so well against the Rangers this year. Of course, we have traded outfits for Everett every other game. Here are a few photos of him in his gear.
Also, I went ahead and added a photo of him in his Texas Tech jersey. Can anyone tell we like sports?

GOODBYE WORK!!!

To day is the last day I will walk into the office and see this on the wall! I am going to stay at home and be with my baby boy! I cannot wait to begin my new job as a mom and homemaker. I will miss my friends at work, but know we will stay in touch. Kelly Services has been good to me the 4 years that I have been with the company, but being with my son is so much more important.

One Year Ago

One year ago today, Eron and I drove to Houston for the weekend, and told my mom and sister that I was pregnant. I will never forget that day. It was so fun to tell them and I still get excited when I think about it!
Here is a sonogram picture taken June 12, 2008. Our sweet baby sure sure looks different now! The picture is hard to see, but you get the idea.

Fun Things

We have been having a lot of fun with Everett. I always think that I cannot possibly enjoy him anymore, and then I do! Lately he has been trying to sit up. We are getting there, but he can only sit about 30 seconds to a minute before falling to the right side. I did get some pictures of him sitting up, though! He LOVES to look at Samson. He smiles and laughs at him all the time.

Also, we had a good time Memorial weekend with my cousins and their families. I have attached some shots of that, too. Can you tell that it was the BOYS who did not want to cooperate with the picture taking? Of course! But, they are also the youngest in the bunch...I think the one where Cole is actually running out of the picture is my favorite.

1st Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was WONDERFUL! My mom came to town to celebrate with me, and I really enjoyed our time together.
Eron and Everett gave me roses and really sweet cards, and my mom gave me a James Avery charm in the shape of a heart with "MOMMY" in the center.
Eron made me, my mom, and his mom a delicious brunch of omelets, skillet potatoes, and toast. I could eat it all again right now. Thank you Eron for making my day so nice.
It was just a special day all together. I was sad to take my mom back to the airport, though.
Everett had a pediatrician appointment this morning for a follow up shot. He only yelled a little bit. Poor thing. I really hate having to hold down his arms while he gets a shot. He now weighs 17 pounds and 3 ounces. He is definitely not breaking stride on the growth! I hope that all of the moms out there had a GREAT Mother's Day!!!

Rolling Over

Yep, Everett is rolling over, and can get himself in a push-up position (he has done that for a while). He is getting to be more and more like a real person everyday.
We enjoy him SO MUCH!!! I have added a couple of random pictures again. The other little boy in the picture with Everett is my cousin Christin's youngest son, Monty...

Cute Pictures

No real updates, but I wanted to post a couple of pics of Everett. These were taken by our friend Emily who watches him on Wednesday and Friday while I am at work.
He is growing up so fast!
I just love his crazy look in the last one!

3 Month Update

No pictures this time...I promise I will do that soon! I just wanted to send the 3 month updates. At Everett's pediatrician appointment on Monday, he weiged 15 pounds, 12 ozs and was 25 and 1/4 inches long.
That means that he has gained 6 pounds 4 ozs and 5 inches since he was born! He is determined to be a monster!
He has started smiling all the time, turns his head easily all the time, coos, giggles, "talks", tries to sit up and is just very entertaining in general.
Hopefully I will have pictures put up within the next few days...

First Smile on Camera

Right after I posted last time, we were able to catch Everett smiling for the camera!!!
I added the two best ones for you all to see.
He is doing well after battling some pretty bad allergies and seems to be my happy baby again!
Tuesday at the doctor he weighed in at 14 lbs 6 ozs and is 23 inches. No wonder he eats alot!!! Enjoy the pics. More later...

I am BACK...hopefully!

Hello Everyone.
I have finally downloaded several pics of Everett from birth to now (8 weeks today).
We have already had many "firsts", but of course my favorite is the smiling Everett started since he was about 4 or 5 weeks old. Of course, I have not been able to capture him doing this on camera, but will continue to try.
My least favorite is the ear infection that he got at 5 weeks old. Yuck. Poor little thing. And he has allergies. Also not one of my favorite things, but it may bother me more than him.
All in all Everett is a great baby. He does not cry much and will generally sleep at night except to wake up to eat. He is the most fussy when he is overtired and fights sleep like a toddler. But eventually he goes to sleep and all is happy again.
At his last doctors appt last week, Everett weighed 13 pounds, 3 ozs and was 21 inches long. STILL a bog boy!!!
Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone.

It's a BIG Boy!!!

Everett Eron Linn was born on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 7:46 AM. He weighed 9 pounds, 8 ozs and was 20 and a half inches long. What a BIG boy. So far so good! He LOVES to eat...Imagine that! I am truly exhausted but wanted to go ahead and post the pictures tonight. We are totally enamored with our precious baby. I am only posting a few pictures tonight but will do a better job when I am not as "new" at being a mommy.

Tomorrow is the Big Day!!!

Well, today's check up brought us quite a surprise! The Dr. told me I was still not dilated, and then started to ask us some pretty odd questios, so I knew somethig was going on. Apparently my body is not cooperating. It seems that no matter what route we take, I am a strong candidate for c-section. Even if we tried to do child birth naturally, the Dr. feels strongly that my delivery will end in c-section. At my prior visits he wanted to wait to see if anything would change in hopes that we could do a natural child birth, but at this point he does not see any way around it. Also, he RARELY will even suggest this option, so we feel confident that this is the right thing to do.
Pray for us! We arrrive at 5:30 in the morning, and wil have the surgery at 7:30 AM. So, Baby Linn will be here around 7:45. We cannot believe that this time tomorrow we will be parents!
We would like to have visitors starting Wednesday. One of us will send out a text message announcing Baby Linn's gender, weight, height and name!!! Stay tuned....

I am Going to be Pregnant Forever!

Well, we just had our weekly check-up and I have not dilated AT ALL. I am effaced but nothing on the dilation. So, next week I go back and hope that I have made some progress!
The sonogram tech said the weight looked to be around 9 pounds 7 ozs. The Dr. said he guessed 8 and a half!!! Wow! So I guess somewhere in the middle is the weight.
Eron took this picture of me last night. 38 weeks 1 day.....Can my skin stretch anymore? Yikes!!!

I still have not gained any weight at all in 5 weeks. Crazy that somehow the baby gains weight, yet the scale stays the same for me. Maybe that is why I am so tired??? I guess I am getting what is owed to me. My poor mom carried me for 42 weeks and then they had to force me out. I guess, our baby is just content in there. At least we know that the baby is healthy and seems to be happy, which is our ultimate hope. I will make sure to update next week after my appointment and of course sooner if anything happens.

Guess Baby L Stats

We thought it would be fun to have anyone who is interested play this game to guess Baby Linn's stats. I have already guessed, and NO, I don't know ANY of the answers. If I did, that would ruin the game!
Just click on this link to participate and then click on Enter a Guess! Thanks for playing
By the way, I did steal this idea from my friend, Wendy Q. Thank you, Wendy...

Quote of the Day

"I can't eat, I can't sleep, but I can do a great imitation of a beached whale. Seriously, are we almost done with this?"

I read this in one of my many pregnancy emails I get, and thought it was hilarious AND appropriate. This is so true of the very late stages of pregnancy.

I had yet another weekly check up yesterday, and all is well. The sonogram looked great as far as Baby Linn's health and physical activity.
I was SO hoping that I had dilated some, anything at all, but NO. I have effaced to 60%, so that is good that I have at least SOME progress. We are both getting very excited to meet this baby and are glad that the baby is healthy and all has been well with this pregnancy so far. I will update again after my appointment next Monday. Please keep us in your prayers that all continues to go smoothly.
