No Excuses

Well, I have zero excuses for not posting in so long, so I won't even try to pretend. A lot has happened since my last post. Everett has two teeth in, and 3 that I can feel (and kinda see) working their way into his mouth. He has become very "busy". He can go from lying on his tummy to sitting all on his own, pull up and cruise around his crib, and anything else he can find. He attempts crawling, but ends up getting mad, so he just inches around and rolls until he gets where he wants. He can make it all the way across a room using this method! Apparently, I did the very same thing, and never actually crawled, and was walking at 9 months. We will see if he does that, too. I am not sure if I am ready for him to walk that early, though. Yes, I know people used to think that something was seriously wrong with children who skip crawling, but that has since been disproved...He also babbles to his toys and to us and mostly says "D" sounds, dadadadad. He thinks he is funny and laughs at himself a lot.
Everett and I also went to Houston for a week to meet people he had never met before and just to visit family and friends. It was a WONDERFUL time. We went to the beach, ate yummy food, saw so many fun friends and had a great time with my family.
I will be posting LOTS of pictures, but they will probably post out of order like they usually do since I am no expert on how to use this blog.
We have been on play dates and been swimming this summer, and even bathing with no tub seat. Everett likes to fake swim in the tub now, and also likes to try to catch the water as it comes out of the faucet or up from the pool spouts.
We are still enjoying him more and more everyday. I also LOVE being at home and being "employed" by my son and husband :)

PS...No pictures this time. I have been trying for 3 days and cannot get them to upload. There are mostly all on Facebook anyway. Sorry!

A House Divided!

This week the Astros and the Rangers have been playing a series for the last time this season. Unfortunately for me, the Stros have not done so well against the Rangers this year. Of course, we have traded outfits for Everett every other game. Here are a few photos of him in his gear.
Also, I went ahead and added a photo of him in his Texas Tech jersey. Can anyone tell we like sports?

GOODBYE WORK!!!

To day is the last day I will walk into the office and see this on the wall! I am going to stay at home and be with my baby boy! I cannot wait to begin my new job as a mom and homemaker. I will miss my friends at work, but know we will stay in touch. Kelly Services has been good to me the 4 years that I have been with the company, but being with my son is so much more important.

One Year Ago

One year ago today, Eron and I drove to Houston for the weekend, and told my mom and sister that I was pregnant. I will never forget that day. It was so fun to tell them and I still get excited when I think about it!
Here is a sonogram picture taken June 12, 2008. Our sweet baby sure sure looks different now! The picture is hard to see, but you get the idea.

Fun Things

We have been having a lot of fun with Everett. I always think that I cannot possibly enjoy him anymore, and then I do! Lately he has been trying to sit up. We are getting there, but he can only sit about 30 seconds to a minute before falling to the right side. I did get some pictures of him sitting up, though! He LOVES to look at Samson. He smiles and laughs at him all the time.

Also, we had a good time Memorial weekend with my cousins and their families. I have attached some shots of that, too. Can you tell that it was the BOYS who did not want to cooperate with the picture taking? Of course! But, they are also the youngest in the bunch...I think the one where Cole is actually running out of the picture is my favorite.

1st Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was WONDERFUL! My mom came to town to celebrate with me, and I really enjoyed our time together.
Eron and Everett gave me roses and really sweet cards, and my mom gave me a James Avery charm in the shape of a heart with "MOMMY" in the center.
Eron made me, my mom, and his mom a delicious brunch of omelets, skillet potatoes, and toast. I could eat it all again right now. Thank you Eron for making my day so nice.
It was just a special day all together. I was sad to take my mom back to the airport, though.
Everett had a pediatrician appointment this morning for a follow up shot. He only yelled a little bit. Poor thing. I really hate having to hold down his arms while he gets a shot. He now weighs 17 pounds and 3 ounces. He is definitely not breaking stride on the growth! I hope that all of the moms out there had a GREAT Mother's Day!!!

Rolling Over

Yep, Everett is rolling over, and can get himself in a push-up position (he has done that for a while). He is getting to be more and more like a real person everyday.
We enjoy him SO MUCH!!! I have added a couple of random pictures again. The other little boy in the picture with Everett is my cousin Christin's youngest son, Monty...
